Old World Gourmet Blueberry Pomegranate Mix Red Wine Review.

I really liked the fact that these All Natural Wine Mixes were easy to use.  Just add the powder to some wine, place in the freezer until it's like a slushy, and then it's done. The flavors are delicious! You should check Old World Gourmet out online by clicking here.  See the other mixes for white wines, and even for baking!

JENNIE-O Turkey Pastrami with Eggplant! So Delicious! Easy Recipes!

Switch To Turkey!

When you think of JENNIE-O Turkey what comes to come?? Do you think about Turkey Burgers? Turkey Ham? Pastrami? That is where my mind goes.  I absolutely adore the JENNIE-O Turkey Store Website.

I have a hard time digesting red meat, so I went to turkey instead.  My favorite is the JENNIE-O Turkey Pastrami.  It comes in whole chunks, and you can cut into slices yourself.

This was an extremely easy meal.  I just cut the turkey pastrami up,  lightly fried (It's already seasoned, and covered in pepper.)

I also fried up some Eggplant in almond flour (2 tsp pepper, 2 tsp of garlic powder, 2 tsp of season all.) I then dip the sliced eggplant into egg whites (I like to add dried onions to the eggwhites.)

While frying,  the oil should be HOT,  I don't turn the oil down to medium-high til the eggplants already breaded and ready to go in.

Together, this meal, along with some wine was perfect.  The Pastrami was moist, and seasoned perfectly.  I just like to blacken a little in a cast iron frying pan, and make the outside crispy.

You can find different recipes by going to JENNI-O's, it's as easy as typing in what you are craving, and it will find an easy recipe for you to make.  Check the JENNIE-O Turkey Shop Easy Recipes out by clicking here.

Disclaimer: I received some of these items for free to review.  All images, and opinions are my own.  We eat a lot of JENNIE-O Products.

The Gorton's Fisherman Skillet Crisp Tilapia Garlic & Herb 190 calorie Review and GIVEAWAY!!

Do you trust the Gortons Fisherman?  I've always been a fan, but even better now since they have 20 products that are less than 200 calories.

Gortons has new fish meals that are under 200 calories a serving!! I am trying the Skillet Crisp Tilapia Garlic & Herb.  Instead of pan frying it,  I sprayed a little zero calories butter spray on each side while baking in the oven on parchment paper.  The directions are to cook while frozen.  In the oven you bake at 425, flip at 12 mins, and bake 12 more minutes.  As you can see it turned out picture perfect.  Usually food never looks like it's image on the box, but I think Gortons looks identical.  They came out Crunchy on the outside, and the insides were white, and moist tilapia.  I loved it.  I am eating mine right now for lunch.  Since I'm eating it with a salad, and 0 calorie salad dressing I splurged and am eating two of the 190 calorie fish.  380 calories for a meal that is filling is well worth it.   I'm impressed with this fish.  I received these items for free! One lucky reader will also win a prize pack by entering via rafflecopter below! Sorry, U.S. Only.

Artisan Salad is full of Vitamins!

Since I've been eating healthier, and trying to eat more vitamin rich, low calorie meals I discovered that I actually do enjoy Artisan Salad.

Artisan Lettuces consist of Petite Gem (crunchy sweet mild flavor.) Petite Tango (sharp intense spice flavor.) Petite Oak (lots of texture, and flavor.)

3oz's of lettuce is only 10 calories. It has the same calorie # as Iceburg but an actual percentage of Vitamins that makes the other lettuces look like sissies.  I also like to add baby spinach in with the salads, along with my favorite veggies.  Just because? It's delicious.

Artisan Salad has Vitamin A 100%, Vitamin C 10%, Calcium 2%, Iron 4%. 170 MG of Potassium, 2g Carbs, Less than 1 g Fiber, Less than 1g Sugar, 1g Protein, ,

Between my husband, and myself we eat 2 trays of the Artisan Lettuce a week now. I really love it's crisp, fresh taste. It has FLAVOR, and doesn't just taste like water!! If you're a salad person, and you've never tried Artisan Salad you really should. You need those vitamins. Plus I dig it's peppery sweet taste.  You should try it.

I'm also on Nutrisystem, and part of the Guidelines is to add grocery store add-ins, like vegetables, fruits, nuts, extra protein (Smart Carbs, and Power Fuels.)

Wheat-Free Pizza Baguette is whats for dinner!

So my husband has gone wheat free.  To support his decision I have been playing around in the kitchen.  I'd like to thank Schars for the $2.50 off coupon! With that I bought the Gluten, and Wheat Free bread to make this.

Ingredients:

Gluten/Wheat Free Bread
Organic Tomato Paste
Fresh Shredded Parmesan

Toppings:
Mushrooms
Black Olives
Red Onions
Pepperonis

I sauteed the onions, and mushrooms together first.  Then it's as simple as cutting the baguette down the middle.  I then put a thin layer of the tomato paste w/a little bit of italian herbs.  Sprinkled the first layer of cheese on.  Laid the Pepperoni's.  Added more cheese.  Then more toppings.

Baked til the cheese was melted (It only takes a few minutes on 400) The bread itself just needs to be baked for 3-4 minutes, so keep that into consideration.  I baked mine for about 5 minutes, and it was crispy on the outside, and still moist inside.  This was a success! The hubby loved it.

Lazy Day? Try this Pizza Alternative Recipe (Tostadas)

I wanted pizza for dinner, but I wanted something easy to make, and a better alternative too, so I made Pizza Tostadas. All you really need is cheese, sauce, tostadas, and whatever other toppings you enjoy.

Just bake them long enough to melt the cheese, I like to use a sheet of parchment paper. Makes the Tostadas nice and extra crispy.

I am human, and have my weaknesses, but if I can find something that fufills a craving I have for pizza, that is an even healthier alternative. I try to make that first. You can also use refried beans instead of pasta sauce, or just do stewed tomato's, whatever you like.

I try to make my fridge have fruits, and vegetables portioned off in their own bags, that way I can just grab a bag when I am preparing a meal. I usually buy things in bulk, either from Sams Club, or Aldi's, Those two are the cheapest places here for fresh produce. I do grow my own cherry tomatoes, pablano peppers, and mints. I have what you call an "apartment garden." Ideally I'd love a real yard.

{ Book Review } THE UNOFFICIAL MADMEN COOKBOOK!

Great Retro Cookbook

Life According To GreenVics Holiday Gift Guide

Sometimes I wish I was from the time of cocktails, and when you were either a Jackie O, or Marilyn type of gal.  The look, and recipes are a time to go back to, when people cooked at home, and went out to eat at legendary restaurants. This cookbook is full of recipes from Kitchens, Bars, and Restaurants as seen on Mad Men.

THE UNOFFICIAL MAD MEN COOKBOOK

THE UNOFFICIAL MAD MEN COOKBOOK by Judy Gelman and Peter Zheutlin has it all.  There are over 70 recipes ranging from Cocktails, Appetizers, Salads, Main Courses, and Deserts & Sweets.

This Cookbook would be a great gift for someone that wants to learn to cook, and entertain.  Or, if you are just a huge Don Drapper fan.

Not only is the cookbook full of recipes, but also historical, and cultural content.

Detailed Colored Full Photos

My favorite recipe tho would have to be the pineapple upside down cake. It's simple, and to the point.  I can remember my Grandma making it, and my mom making me it.  Now I make it for my family.  It's just one of those recipes that I *believe* everyone should know how to make for their family!

You can Retrogress with The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook on Facebook & Twitter.

I mention all the time how much I love sweet things.. This is one of my favorite cakes to bake.  Not only is it DELICIOUS! But it's like a work of art too!  It's fun to arrange the pineapple slices, and cherries.

Tho sometimes I get lazy, and just do it like this, Lol.  It all tastes the same! I made two pineapple down sheet cakes.

Now I need a Martini please! Oh, and I hope I made you hungry.

I received this book for free for my honest opinion.   The Unofficial MadMen Cookbook retails for $16.95.  I was not told what to write/nor say, or to cook/try from the book.  This was all meee.

Emerson Creek Pottery Go Green Apple Baker Review & Giveaway

Life According To GreenVics Holiday Gift Guide

This is completely non-toxic, 100% Virginia Clay.  These Go Green Apple Bakers by Emerson Creek Pottery are hand made in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I absolutely love this apple baker.  It's so easy to use, and works fantastic! Below is a sweet treat my husband made for our Toddler.

Instead of a bunch of overly sugar treats, we cored an apple, placed it in the middle of the apple baker.

We then added just a pinch of sugar, and some Ground Cinnamon.

And let the apple bake in the Oven, it was done in no time.

Rather my husband make this as a snack for our toddler than any other sweet treat.  Personally, I wanted Vanilla IceCream in the middle of mine after baking but.. Someone ate all my Ice Cream!

A few ideas,  Bake apples with the Go Green Apple Baker, You can even do 3-4 apples and place around the apple baker.  Once the apple has baked with Cinnamon Sugar, Let cool to warm, and add some Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Or, You could even bake a bunch of these apples, cut into slices, and use for plain oatmeal, or to just eat alone as a snack.

Check Emerson Creek Pottery out on Facebook!! You can also enter below to win your own Apple Baker!

Ozeri Eco Friendly Green Earth Ceramic NonToxic Pans

I've been trying to lead a more Eco-Friendly Green life style since my leg injury, I have to watch my intake on everything, that made me realize how many toxins our bodies actually come into contact with. What we don't even realize we are consuming by the things we cook with.

I started to question,  Where do you think those Teflon Non Stick Coatings go?

The more I read, the more it freaked me out on how there are over 15 different types of gases that can be released in those pans. It happens when a certain temperature is reached, say you left your pan on for preheating.. Seriously, Why did I buy those $50.00 pans? If It was coated with poison? It can also cause Polymer Flu Like symptoms, and can be fatal to birds.

I just refuse to cook with anything coated with Teflon anymore.  I'm not saying something else is healthier, YOU be the judge of that, I'm just saying, Those gases go somewhere.  There are way too many choices out there than to use those types of pans.

This is my new Baby, I use her about twice a day. Shes the 12" Green Earth Pan by Ozeri which is 100% PTFE and PFOA Free!!

Ozeri has a line of Green Earth Pans, From Sauce pans, to frying, even a Wok by Ozeri.  I've been using my 12" Pan for awhile now, and I seriously threw all my other pans away after reading what those nonstick coatings can do.  I didn't know.  I'm upset with myself that I bought those expensive nonstick pans, and never thought to question what made them nonstick.  I will never go back to them.

The layering of the ECozeri Ceramic Eco-Friendly pan is pretty high tech, and just worth buying just because of its technology for evenly cooking, and being nonstick by the layers of Ceramic Coating.

I've cooked just about everything in mine.  I used virgin coconut oil to fry Fried Chicken (Wheat Flour, with coconut shreds, so delish.) I even made Rice with Kale.  We eat a lot of Veggy Burgers, and they were great fried in the pan.

It's proved to me what It's capable of doing, and the price? There is always a deal on Amazon for the ECozeri, Ozeri Eco-Friendly Pans.  I'm getting myself the Wok soon.  I'm completely set on being healthier for my family, and I.  It's little steps like this that make a difference in the long run.

If you have any questions for Ozeri on their Ecozeri Green Earth Pans, You can message them on Ozeri Products Facebook Wall.

Below is actual Coconut Fried Chicken I made in my pan. It tastes just as good as it looks!  If you don't believe me, I've added my personal recipe too.

Ingredients:

  • Pepper tsp
  • Season All  tsp
  • Nutmeg 1/2 tsp
  • Shredded Coconut  1/3 cup
  • Eggs
  • Wheat Flour  2 cups
  • Virgin Coconut Oil
  • Thawed Chicken Tenders
Directions:

First mix the Flour, Pepper, Season All, Nutmeg in a bowl by itself, and mix, then add in the Shredded Coconut.  Mix again.

The eggs you crack into a separate bowl, mix, This is used to dip the chicken in, and then once the chicken is coated with egg, you dip it into the flour mix.  I do this about three times.

The frying pan I turn on High, and let the Coconut Oil heat up, always drop the breaded chicken tenders into a hot frying pan, warm, and just turned on will not work, and you might loose some of your breading.

Once its in the pan, I turn the heat down to Medium, and let it cook, don't flip them too soon,  make sure they are nice and crispy before going to the other side.  Also, I move the tenders in the pan around, that makes sure I don't have to add more coconut oil, and nothing tried to stick in the Ecozeri Earth Pan.  I'm really loving that pan.

Verdict:  GREAT PAN!  Super easy to rinse clean. I received this pan for free for my honest, open, opinion. And, can be found on Amazon too! For under $40.00,I love amazon. I know others that love it too, just like me, I save up Amazon Giftcards I've earned from various Social Media Word Of Mouth sites, and then I splurge on Amazon with something I want.  Ozeri WOK is going to be my next Kitchen Splurge.

With the holidays coming up, if any of my family members or friends that read my blog, want to know what to get me, I need more of these pans, Thank you very much, Lol. You know I'm not joking too!

Country Bobs Review & Giveaway

For this review I baked chicken, cut up fresh jalapenos, garlic cloves and brushed Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce all over. For the side dishes, Corn on the cob, and cole slaw.

The sauce tasted like a cross between steak sauce, and a light vinegar. It didn't over power the meat. The sauce itself had a thick consistency, and was easy to pour. I poured it onto the chicken after it cooked for awhile, brushed it evenly, then put it back in the oven to bake a little longer. The whole family enjoyed the Country Bobs Chicken.

The All Purpose Sauce can be used on/in Steak, Hamburgers, Chicken, Fries & Barbeque. There's also Spicy All Purpose Sauce available, along with Barbeque Sauce, and Seasoning Salt. If you want to find out more about Country Bobs you can find them on Facebook & Twitter.

I gave bottles away to friends/family I know in Ohio, here are what a few have said so far,

Sue H. said "Had oven barbeque pork chops last night with Country Bobs...Danny loved it and said they have it at his Krogers."

She baked pork chops with Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce.

Falcon P. said "Smooth, and Tangy."

He ate his over top of Turkey Burgers.

Country Bobs Has Sponsored A Giveaway for this review, One lucky follower will receive 2 Bottles Of All Purpose Sauce. U.S. Only.

My Morning Breakfast Routine.

These are the ingredients to my breakfast, Sometimes the fruit choice changes, but usually it's always the same ingredients.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of Milk (I usually use Soy, or Almond)

1/2 cup of Frozen fruit (today it was Blueberries)

1 serving of 60g Mocha Protein. It's just a scoop.

3 tsp of Instant coffee (I love coffee)

1 tsp chia seeds (gives it a nutty flavor, also great source of fiber)

If you are worried about calories in your breakfast you really shouldn't be, The milk, and fruit have about 100 calories a piece, and the protein powder has 170. So to be FULL, and have your source of vitamins for the morning on just 370 calories is a GREAT breakfast.

You should really give this a try for a week. It really is healthy, and keeps your body fueled.

BzzAgent GreenVics Filippo Berio® experience

Through BzzAgent.com, I was giving the opportunity to try Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I cook with Olive Oil, and Safflower Oil as is, but I had never tried Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Before receiving a bottle free in the mail. I was also giving $1.00 off coupons to pass out to family, and friends of my Moms Group.

I decided to cut up some mushrooms, & red onions for the dinner I was preparing, I sprinkled just a little bit of the oil on the vegetables themselves, and a dab into the frying pan. I liked the oil because it wasn't too thick, and overpowering on the veggie, which meant I could still taste the earthiness of the shrooms, and onions.

I was very pleased with how the meal turned out. Juicy, not burnt, not over powered by the oil.

You can checkout BzzAgent.com here, and more about Fillipo Berio here.

What made The Filippo Berio experisnce a good one: Thee extra virgin oil was not over powering, and just a dab, as in not even half a teaspoon was enough to saute the vegetables, and still be able to taste them, and not the oil.

Prep Time & Clean Up: Cutting, and preparing the onions and mushrooms were easy, I just sprinkled the seasoning on I wanted to use, and then pan sauteed til the texture I like my vegetables, I like them still a little crunchy. Cleaning the pan out was easy, nothing was stuck to it.

Private Selection Taste Of Summer.

I was very pleased to have been chosen to participate in the BzzCampaign for Krogers Private Selection. I was giving a few 20% off coupons for the Private Selection brand to give out, and for myself a few free item coupons, a coupon for free ground angus up to $5.00 off, $1.50 off a pint of private select icecream, and a free 6" Private Selection baked pie. I shop at Krogers all the time, and I am really enjoying their own line of products for their "Private Selection.", Today I bought the angus beef to make some burgers, and I had the bag of pepper, and sea salt kettle chips for dinner that came in my BzzKit w/the coupons. Using the coupons were very easy. I was just disapointed that my krogers here in Columbus had no Private Selection baked pies out. Absolutely none, so I am saving that coupon for when I pass by another store.

Here are the Private Selection Items I picked up;

The Private Selection Angus Ground beef was really easy to work with, I added egg, some italian bread crumbs, and pepper, sliced garlic cloves, little bit of soy, and made my burgers.(yes that little burger is for my 18 month old, lol)

I also cut up some mushrooms, and onions for the toppings.

The burgers were moist, a great angus beef taste to them, and the chips had the right amount of kettle chip crunch to them. I wish they were spicy, or BBQ, those are my favorite flavors, but the sea salt, and black pepper werent bad. I just don't really buy things normally that have alot of salt in them.

The private selection Raspberry And dark chocolate chunks in the pint size container is to DIE for. This really is a great store brand. Dinner & desert tonight was easy to make, and delicious.

This BzzAgent (Greenvics) really means it when she says for the price, the quality of the food, and the taste, and ability to purchase everything you need while in just one store makes the Private Selection brand one of my favorite store brands.
