Hippity Hop, hop HoneyBaked Easter is on it's way!  Recently I received a Gift Card to put together a HoneyBaked Ham meal that my family would enjoy.  Which is really easy to do! HoneyBaked Ham isn't just Ham, there are other meats, and sides. There are always coupons to use that can be found directly on HoneyBakedForYou.com/ 

I wanted to just show up at the store this time with Gift Card in hand and choose items on a spur of the moment.  I wanted it to feel like a "OMG I didn't buy anything for Easter Brunch," feeling.  

There were different Hams in the Fridge for me to pick from ranging from Mini to Large with, or without bone in.  HoneyBaked Ham also carries Smoked, or Roasted Turkey Breast too.  I couldn't decide just one, so I picked one of each.  For sides there were cold salads and take home sides in the Freezers.  Along with Bacon too.

Ordering was easy in store.   Everything we tasted was Amazing.  Both meats were moist, and juicy with a thin outer crust of glaze.  

The Broccoli slaw had crunchy florets, sweet raisins amongst other ingredients.  I loved the contrast between the greens, and sweetness. The macaroni salad had little chunks of Cheese.

I had a hiccup tho, she forgot to put my slice of Carrot Cake in the bag, and when I returned home I called.. still no phone call back from the Manager for the Newport News Virginia location.

The carrot cake looked so good, I bet it tasted as good as it looked too. My plan for the Carrot Cake was to cut it into squares and use it for bite size dessert.  I'll update this if the Manager calls me back.

The meal itself fed 8 adults, and 3 children.  Everyone loved the sweet glaze, and sides.  So if you are looking for an easy Easter Meal, but don't feel like cooking (or forgot to cook.) go to HoneyBaked Ham, or just call your local HoneyBaked Ham to see what their schedule is for Easter, and pre-order your meal to pick up, or just do like I did, walk in! I justify meals like this by The time you get to spend with your family by not being in the kitchen cooking, and the energy saved by not using my oven.  It really is a win-win situation.

Some items can only be catered, but if it's on a spur of the moment,  in store does have a selection of foods.

Here are a few ways my family likes to make our homes a little smarter.

We buy nothing but Energy Star electronics to use it really is worth the extra cash to save on electricity in the long run.  We also only use LED lights.  They last us a while, and once again cheaper, I have seen dollar stores sell Energy Efficient LED lights for 2 for $1.00 before, and they seriously last us years.  I also don't like lights being left on,  and I am a firm believer in unplugging electronics when not in use.  I'm a true believer every little thing helps.

I like to take quick  Need help thinking of ways to make your home smarter? We’ve got a mixture of energy efficiency and smart home ideas for you!

1. Install a smart thermostat. Smart thermostats offer you climate control, the convenience of programming away from home, and more.

2. Your living room typically has multiple active light sources available. Make sure your lighting is energy efficient by switching traditional bulbs to CFLs or LEDs.

3. Replace your old, inefficient appliances with new, efficient, Energy Star® appliances. Old appliances tend to run inefficiently.

4. Replace the showerhead in your bathroom(s) with low flow showerheads. These showerheads regulate the flow of water, assuring you a more efficient shower.

5. Change your air filter every 1-3 months. Clogged air filters increase your energy costs. Even though smart thermostats will send out reminders, YOU still have to do it.

6. Be sure your air return vents aren’t being blocked by furniture or carpets.

7. Insulate and seal your duct work. Make sure that all your heated and cooled air gets circulated in the right places.

8. Make sure you have a strong Wi-fi signal from your smart thermostat and smart devices. Because you can remotely control your smart thermostat via the internet, periodically check the signal strength in the network settings on the thermostat’s control screen.

9. Unplug energy sucking devices when they are not in use. Common energy wasters include your computer, printer, DVD player, phone charger and any electronics attached to a power strip. Unplug these electronics at night or when you are away from home.

10. Reduce waste at home by paying your bills online and reusing plastic shopping bags after you go to the grocery store to line trash cans instead of throwing them away.

11. Using dishwashers and washer/dryers at night will keep the house cooler, reduce strain on the power grid during the peak usage hours of 4 PM and 6 PM and reduce the chance of an emergency!

Before having kids (including furkids) I would just buy whatever was the cheapest vacuum.  It didn't matter to me back then.  Now, I need all the extra help keeping my house clean, and with little effort. Before the Dyson vacuuming felt like a chore to me,  I had to always go over the same spot to pick up things, and even lift my old vacuum cleaner up, and place it directly on top the mess.  I don't have to do that now.  The Dyson DC65 gracefully turns, and even those sweet potato fries, and half ate corn tortilla wraps have no chance.  It has made clean up time go a lot faster.

Before I received the Dyson, I would ask friends, and family who had one if it was worth it.  And they all would say yes, and list weird things they were guilty of vacuuming up.  Also the fact that they had their Dysons for years. Of course I was skeptic, like "OMG WHYYY you pay that much!!" Now I know why.  It's a commitment for a cleaner, more hypoallergenic home.  It really is amazing how much it picks up.  I don't cringe anymore when the 3 yr old spills Cheerios, and Popcorn all over the carpet either. More things it has sucked up: Fruit Snacks, all shapes/sizes.  Fruit Roll Ups, Coconut Flakes (Yes, my 3 year old made it rain coconut flakes all over the kitchen floor.) I didn't even sweep those up, I just used the hand tool.  

Overall Impression: Well worth the price, I truly believe you get what you pay for now.  I have enough to worry about and clean up.  Only thing I should be lifting up is my little one, not my vacuum to place directly over a spot.  I am hoping for a long relationship with my Dyson.
Unboxing was also pretty easy to put the Dyson together.  I love the long dusting brush, and extra tools.

How-To-Paint Letter Wall Art by GreenVics

This is just an idea on how to decorate Letters for a babies wall on a budget.  If it's for your little one, or to give as a gift. Here is how I painted mine. 

Go find whatever letters you need.  Sometimes they are on clearance.  Don't forget to check your Sunday papers for those 40% off craft store coupons that you can use on an item.  Ask people you know if you can have theirs too.  

Royal Talens AMSTERDAM Standard Series Acrylic 2.5 oz.

Also, don't go crazy with buying every color of paint you see.  All you need are a nice set of Standard Series Paints.  Something with Red, Yellow, Blue, Black & White paint. With those colors, You can make so many different shades.  You'll also need good brushes, don't be afraid to buy single brushes, the smaller, the better.  Especially for those small detailed lines.

The brush to the right is one of my favorite brushes.  It's a 5/0 round Princeton Preferred.  Love your art brushes, and take care of them!! Always clean them off after use.  A good brush will last a long time.

Just stick to the basics.  What is great about these Acrylic tubes are you will have so much left over for other projects that come along.  The brushes are a great investment as well.  The white brushes with the gold ends are by Trenton.

You don't have to be an artist to create something.  Just have fun with it.  GO for it.  Worse case scenario, if you don't like it? Start over.   But, don't be hard on yourself.  

Here's how I created mine.  Use a pencil to sketch what it is you want to draw (my favorite art pencils are by Faber-Castell.) Pencil first, with light lines in case you do want to erase something.   

After you've sketched out your design , it's time to paint.  You don't need to use a special paint palette.  Grab a dollar store plate.  

It's all about relaxing, and filling in the color.  Take your time,  This really does relax me.

After awhile it will start to come together.  For fun I made stripes on the sides of the letters that matched colors I had used for the characters.  

The very last thing I do is add the black outline.  To do this just use the small brush, ,and when you are applying paint to it, roll the brush into the black side to side.  Test it to see how thin your line will be.

Really hope this motivates you into painting something special, and one of a kind for your little ones.  I've seen Dr. Seuss art, but I wanted a Dr. Seuss themed  letter wall art.  Maybe your theme is flowers, fairies, monsters, or other well known characters that it would be cheaper to paint your own.

Now, go create something! Don't have that mentality you aren't good at it.  First think of an idea that you want to try, or atleast a few colors you really want to add.  Start from there.  All art is, are lines, dots, colors, that create the overall picture.  It isn't going to look like what you want at first.  Tweak it, and make it yours.

What Art is on your Walls? Here are a few Framed Wall Posters I have on mine.

We aren't huge on Valentines Day Presents, but we do give each other gifts through out the year.  My favorite thing to gift would be wall art.  Mainly posters, and prints of favorite artists pieces I'm also am a huge fan of antique wall sconces, Bohemian crystal lusters, and pexter figures, along with healing stones.

Main reasons I enjoy Framed Wall Posters are; For one, its affordable, and two, it changes as you change as person.  What I mean by that is, I am totally a creature of impulse, and feeling.  Now because of that my mood, represents what I also hang on my walls.

The First year my Husband and I officially became a couple I gave him  a print of Gustav Klimt - Le Baiser (Meaning the Kiss.) It hangs in our bedroom to remind each other to continue to have the passion, and to kiss like it never grows old.  As we grew as a couple, it only made sense to get Gustav Klimt - Golden Phase later as well.

Then the Second Year we were together, and married, I received two Salvador Dali, framed printed pieces for the living room.  We live in apartments, and it is too much effort, and costly to paint, and repaint our walls when leases are up.  The alternative to that is finding Poster Art that calls out to us, and is framed with wholesaleposterframes.com that way it doesn't cost a arm and a leg, and I can keep collecting, pieces for each room.

I also paint, and my Kitchen has artwork that I painted, It just takes a nice frame to really pull a piece together.

The Purex Crystals come in a bottle that's easy to use.  The cap comes off, and is used to measure the crystals into.  One capful is enough for a whole loud of laundry.

It also dissolves quickly, and smells amazing while the spin cycle is on.

Once the wash was over, and it was time to put the clothes into the Dryer.  They felt normal.  

Now my favorite part, was once they were in the Dryer, the smell from the Crystals I could smell even in my living room.  (My Washer & Dryer are in the downstairs hallway in their own Double Door Closet.) It's been really cold here in Ohio lately, and having these Mountain Breeze Crystals motivated me to do all of our laundry.  The smell, and bonus heat coming from the Laundry room made me beyond happy.

Overall impression:  These are fantastic! I like that I don't have to worry if things are going to be sticky from too much Fabric Softener, or if things are too soft.  The clothes were just perfect, and it's been a few days since washing everything, and I still find myself sniffing the clothes before putting them on.  Also when I mean I washed everything.  I really washed everything.  Even bedding, and Curtains.  It smells great in here.

National Moms Night Out Day & Movie!! Coming soon! May 8-9th.

When is this day? I have never had a Moms Night Out.  Not even in 3 years.  So This would be something I would watch, and want to participate in just because I have never had any one else watch my son.  Not that I'm against it.  Believe me there are days I would love a break.
